A collection of book necklaces

I love books. I like the feel, the look, and even the smell and sound of books. Books are simply lovely.

And apparently books make pretty gorgeous jewelry too, at least in miniature.

Here is a small collection of some of the most beautiful book necklaces I found online, as well as a tutorial.

Tutorial: Domino mini book

A bright idea! Here is a miniature book tutorial using old domino blocks as the binding. I wonder if you could use a small matchbox/matchbook to a similar effect.

Library of antique and scrap leather books

Lovely little things. It must be very fiddly business to bind them. I wonder what you could write in the books? Favorite words? Poems? Telephone numbers?

foundandmade journal necklaces

These are very cheerful-looking. They are strung through one of those little metal ring-holes, whatever they are called. I don’t know how well you can fully open them since they have that ring punched through them, but they are nevertheless things of beauty and so colorful! Lovely.

Paper snake’s sterling silver and paper book-necklaces

The Wizard of Oz, HG Wells, and Edgar Allan Poe books are strung on a silver chain. They look so delicate and lovely!

Literary Pendant by relishdress

This one is, strictly speaking, not a book, but it is still made from a book so I’m happy. I wonder what book text I would select for such a pendant. What would you choose?

Recycled Comic Book Necklace

Hey, who says all books have to be heavy reading? This comic book necklace is a great idea. Every bead tells a story. The recycled comic book bracelet featured on the site is perhaps even more gorgeous. It’s wonderfully clunky in an interesting way.
